Went to Kalgoorlie for the first time over the October Long Weekend. Was good to see some of the history. The history is very intermingled with new VE Commodore utes and lots of bogans! The morning we were there the main street was all closed off and there were lots of police and white paint markings everywhere. Turns out a young girl was killed in a kit and run incident early that morning right in the middle of the street.
Photo above is of Simon and I standing inside a huge loader bucket right next to the Superpit in Kalgoorlie.
Spent a day and a bit driving around the "rocks" in the WA wheatbelt country. Ended up on a road that was similar to a 4WD track in our 2WD car - was a bit hairy and took hours longer than we planned!
I have died my hair to help raise money for the Movember cause - all proceeds to Men's Health including prostate cancer and depression research and counselling. Definitely a good cause.
Perth was in its element this weekend (November 3 and 4). The Red Bull Air Race was on both days and the weather was absolutely glorious. Everyeone else should be jealous of our weather here (and lots of people already are jealous and that's why they come and live here).
Will write more soon. That only covers October!!
